One visit, four stages, and a furnace that is ready for winter.

1

Safety check first

We start with the heat exchanger, gas connections, and venting, the parts that protect your household.

2

Clean and tighten

Burners, the flame sensor, and the blower compartment get cleaned. Electrical connections get tightened.

3

Test every control

Thermostat, limit switches, ignition, and safety shutoffs all get tested through a full heating cycle.

4

Report what we find

You get a plain summary: what is fine, what to watch, and what is worth fixing, in priority order.

What's included

Everything We Check During a Visit

A tune-up is not a quick look. This is the full list we work through.

  • ✓
    Heat exchanger inspection

We look over the heat exchanger for cracks and corrosion, the most important safety check on a gas furnace.

  • ✓
    Burner and ignition cleaning

Dirty burners and a weak flame sensor cause most no-heat calls. We clean both.

  • ✓
    Blower motor and wheel

The blower gets inspected and the wheel cleaned so air keeps moving through your ducts.

  • ✓
    Filter check and sizing

We check your filter's condition and confirm you are using the right size and type.

  • ✓
    Gas line and venting

Connections get checked for leaks and the flue gets checked for blockages.

  • ✓
    Thermostat calibration

We verify the thermostat reads true and cycles the furnace correctly.

  • ✓
    Electrical connections

Loose connections get tightened to prevent mid-winter failures.

  • ✓
    Full-cycle test

We run the furnace through a complete heat cycle and check airflow at the registers.

Tune-Up Questions

Straight answers about furnace maintenance.

How often should a furnace be serviced?

Once a year, in the fall, before heating season. That timing lets us catch wear from last winter before the system has to work hard again.

What does a tune-up actually prevent?

Most no-heat calls come from dirty flame sensors, worn ignitors, and clogged filters. All of those are things a tune-up addresses. Nothing is certain, but maintained furnaces break down far less often.

Do electric furnaces need tune-ups too?

Yes. Electric furnaces have no burners or flue, but they still have heating elements, sequencers, blower motors, and controls that wear and loosen with time.

Will a tune-up lower my heating bills?

A clean, properly adjusted furnace burns less fuel to make the same heat. Dirty burners and a clogged blower force it to work harder than it should.

Can I change the filter myself between visits?

Absolutely, and you should. Check it monthly in winter and swap it when it looks dirty. We show you where it is and what size to buy.
